| Workers: | The amount of workers you have. Workers can be sent to increase the gain of any other resource. | |
| Food: | Feeds your empire. If you run out of food, citizens will start to die. Build lots of farms and make workers work on them to get more food. Food is stored in silos or grain elevators. Build processing plants to increase production. | |
| Wood: | A building material. A fair amount is needed at the start, but less later on. Build lumber yards to allow workers to produce wood. Build mills to increase production. | |
| Gold: | Needed to build anything, from houses to troops. A very valuable resource. Build gold mines to allow workers to produce gold, and refineries to increase production. | |
| Iron: | A building material. Little is needed at the start, but more is needed later on. Iron mines, and refineries, for this. | |
| Oil: | Needed to make vehicles of war. The most valuable resource in the trade market. Build Oil Wells for production. Also required to explore when your empire reaches the Advanced Age. You must research Seismic Surveying to gain oil deposits while exploring. | |
| Knowledge: | Used to pay for research, which has varying effects on your empire. This is untradable. |
